A note from the artist/dancer Jillian Peever: 

To me, pregnancy and the gradual becoming of motherhood is a major life transition that lacks the celebration and excitement that other major life events receive openly in popular culture. This open sharing of my work-in-progress performance titled “Quiet Mother, Mountain, Stream” is an offering to the elevation and celebration of Motherhood. The Mother brings forth a new life through her body, nurturing that life both before it is born, and for many years after. It can be a monumental change of identity. It was/is for me.

Come celebrate mothers even if it is not Mother’s Day! Let’s celebrate motherhood through art and conversation in an atmosphere where mothers are welcome with or without their children. Mothers who are just beginning this transition, mothers of adult children, and those who identify as/with mothers are welcome.
